Frequently Asked Questions

Who can play and do I need to know how to play baseball?

Everyone. Sandlot Social is built for every skill level — from first-timers who’ve never held a bat to serious baseball and softball players looking to sharpen their swing. Our suites use the same pro-level technology found in real training facilities, so the experience scales to you.

New to the game? We’ve got you covered with:

  • Beginner friendly game modes
  • Adjustable pitching speeds for any skill level
  • Batting tees for young kids or anyone who just wants an easier swing
  • Lightweight youth bats for easier contact

Want a real challenge? Dial up the pitch speed, see your ball speed and distance on every hit, and compete in authentic ballparks. Whether you’re here to goof around or chase your best swing, there’s a game mode for you.

Yes — Sandlot Social offers family-friendly gameplay for all ages. That said, we’re also a sports bar that serves alcohol and is designed primarily as a social entertainment venue. Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.

Beginning at 8 p.m., Sandlot Social shifts to a more adult-oriented atmosphere, and some events may be 21+.

Each suite holds up to 8 guests total: 6 players plus 2 additional viewers. For the best experience, we recommend a maximum of 6 players per bay so everyone gets plenty of swings. Groups larger than 6 should reserve multiple bays.

Reservations are strongly recommended. Walk-ins are welcome when space is available, but a reservation guarantees your spot — especially on weekends and during big sporting events.

Suites can be booked in 60-, 90-, or 120-minute sessions. We recommend 90 minutes as the sweet spot:

  • Enough time to enjoy the games
  • Plenty of swings for your group
  • Time to eat, drink, and socialize

Have a bigger group or just want more time at the plate? The 120-minute session gives everyone extra swings.

Yes. Unlike entertainment concepts that rely on tees or pop-up mechanics, our system pitches real balls right to you for a far more immersive experience.

Batting tees are also available for young children or anyone who wants an easier swing.

No. We use specially designed training balls made for simulator play and safety.

Each game in the hitting suite has simple rules you’ll pick up as you start to play. While you’re in the suites, we ask that all guests:

  • Behave in a sportsmanlike manner and treat all equipment, staff and fellow guests with respect
  • Wear shoes at all times (closed-toe recommended)
  • Limit to only one person in the batting area at a time
  • Never swing the bat outside the batting area

Comfortable, casual clothes are perfect, and athletic wear is great if you plan on swinging a lot. Closed-toe shoes are strongly recommended. Please note that cleats are not allowed.

Nope — we provide the bats, balls and everything needed for a good time.

You’re also welcome to bring your own:

  • Bat
  • Batting gloves
  • Baseball or softball helmet (not required)

Please note: cleats are not allowed.

We recommend arriving 15 minutes before your reservation to check in, get settled, and order food or drinks. Because we have reservations booked after yours, your session still ends at its originally scheduled time. Arriving on time helps you get the most gameplay.

Totally fine. Plenty of guests come just to eat, drink, watch sports, and hang out. Each suite has room for 2 viewers in addition to the players. We do recommend a max of 6 batters per reservation so everyone gets a great experience.

Not at all. We have a full-service bar and restaurant with dining tables, high-tops, and extended bar seating, all with a great view of KC’s biggest screen. The dining and bar areas are separate from the batting suites, no reservation required. Come in, grab food and drinks, and catch the game.
